HIP, HIP POOHRAY FOR BIRTHDAYS!!

We have received a lot of e-mails and guest book entries from Pooh fans wanting to know the birth dates of our 100 Acre Wood residents. So, we thought the best thing to do would be to have a page that would answer all
your queries.

When does Winnie-the-Pooh celebrate his birthday?
There is a lot of confusion here and our silly old bear seems to have two birthdates. A lot of people (including us) celebrate his birthday on the 14th of October, as that was the date (14th October 1926) the book "Winnie-the-Pooh" was first printed. That makes our dear old bear 76 years old today!

But, as we read in the book "House at Pooh Corner", Pooh bear was gifted to Christopher Robin Milne on his first birthday, which is August 21, 1920. That makes Pooh a year younger to Christopher Robin. So, Pooh's real birthday falls on August 21st 1921. That makes him 91 years old today!!!
It really doesn't matter which date you follow. For our Pooh bear, its the thought that matters...that and lots of honey.........

When does Eeyore celebrate his birthday?
Eeyore was a Christmas present given to Christopher Robin Milne in 1921. So, we can assume his birthday would fall on 25th December 1921. But, clearly in the stories its not Christmas when all the 100 Acre Wood residents celebrate Eeyore's birthday. We think you could then celebrate his birthday on 25th Dec or on any other date that you want to.

What about Owl and Rabbit?
Well, we do not have any data on the same, but Owl and Rabbit were also born when the first book "Winnie the Pooh" was  published, that would be October 14th 1926.

And ofcourse 'The Splendiferous Celebration"!!!
Our dear old Tigger was born in October 1928, as the book "The House at Pooh Corner" was published around the same date.

What about our other 100 Acre friends?
Our small and sincere Piglet was born between 1922 and 1925 and Kanga and Roo came in 1925. Gopher who was "not in the book, you know" first appeared in Disney's 1965 movie short "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree".
